Rtn Perlita Tiro Vice President
Perlita Tiro (nee Gabriel) has lived in Singapore since November 1971 and is now a Singapore citizen. She is currently Managing Director of Tiro Consulting Services, a company she set up in Janaury 1989 with her late husband, Robert, an Indonesian. A member of global partnership EMA Partners International, Tiro Consulting one of the oldest Asian-based executive search and selection firms in Singapore. Perlita started her career in SGV & Company in the Philippines (8 years) and Singapore, which is now part of Deloitte & Touche (9 years). At SGV, she handled various management consultancy assignments such as setting up accounting and reporting systems, preparing feasibility studies including for IPOs, and management audits. She then joined UK-based PA Consulting Group for 9 years, as CEO for the last 4 ˝ years. Within the PA organization worldwide, she was the first lady to be appointed Director and CEO.
A CPA, Perlita holds a BSBA (cum laude, from UE) and MBA (from UP). She served on the Council of the Singapore Human Resource Institute and is an active member of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the board of Women’s Business Connection.
A very active Rotarian since 2000 and now Vice President of her Rotary Club, Perlita spearheaded the collection of cash donations for the typhoon victims in Infanta in late 2004, generating enough funds to construct a school building. She made history at Rotary by being the first woman to be elected to the Board in 2002 and by being the first woman to be awarded Rotarian of the Year, in 2004, in her Club’s 75 years of existence. She used to be very active in church, supporting needy, sick and religious individuals and organizations in a few countries.
Perlita has one daughter, Maria Osita, who is married and resides in Columbia, SC, USA. She is a proud grandmother of two girls. She grew up in Manila, but her late mother was from Muntinlupa, Rizal while her father (now with her brother in Los Angeles) comes from Cabanatuan City.
Perlita is rather passionate about the upliftment of OFIs and OFWs and the Philippines, as part of her “giving back” goals. She was a leader of Aksyon Demokratiko in Singapore at the May 2004 elections and managed to recruit a good number of OFWs to campaign for the best president that never was, the late Raul Roco, who ranked 4th in Singapore versus 5th nationally in the Philippines.
