Lino has a very diversified experience but is one of the true-blue bankers in our group. From 1982 to 1995, he was with United Coconut Planters Bank as Senior Manager, Head of Cash Services Department and Assistant Vice President. He was also President of the financial subsidiary of the bank, United Eastern Savings Bank (later reorganized as UCPB Savings Bank). He left UCPB in 1995 when called to join Rural Bank of Cainta as EVP and CEO.

Since 2000, he has also been the President of another family-owned business, Tomas Claudio Memorial College (founded by a group led by his granduncle), which he earlier served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1995 to 2000, following his earlier life with the academia, holding the following positions:

• Assistant Professor and Dean, College of Business Adm, Mindanao State University (1974-1976)
• Professorial Lecturer, University of the Philippines (1977-1985)
• Executive Director, U.P. Management Education Council (1977-1980)
• Professorial Lecturer at: De LaSalle University, University of San Carlos, Collegio dela Immaculada Concepcion, Notre Dame University, Regional State Universities, University of Rizal System/Rizal Polytechnic College.

Lino also has work-related travels and assignments in Southeast Asia (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development and Financing). He has been involved in Foreign Assisted Development Projects with USAID, UN and ILO as well (1989-1991). His earlier career included a stint with SGV and company in 1980-81, Audiomark Electronics Mfg. Co., and Mobil Oil Philippines, Inc.

Lino has a BSBA, a MBA, and a Degree in Electronics Engg. He is also a PhD Candidate. His wife Vicky, also with a BSBA and an MBA, is President of Rural Bank of Cainta, and runs their other family businesses. Their three children are all working in California now. Daughters Andrea and Cristina are Food Technologist and Architect, respectively, while son Gerardo is an Electronics Engineer.

With his background, Lino is very well-placed to be in the team to evaluate the feasibility OFI Bank acquiring of the Bulacan Bank. We shall see Lino as an active officer of OFI Bank.
