Jun S Aguilar
Jun Aguilar is a true icon of an OFW turned successful entrepreneur back in the Philippines. He was an OFW for 13 years as an expatriate in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, before deciding to head home in 1998. Following his vision for reintegration upon setting his foot in Philippine soil, he started putting up and successfully run several Small and Medium Enterprises. He is currently the Chairman & President of The FMW Group Holdings Inc, a diversified business entity which has three operating subsidiaries, namely, The FMW Marketing Corp, The FMW Lending Corp, and The FMW Human Resources International. He is also the President & CEO of The Overseas Filipinos Communications Solutions Inc and Managing Director of the Great Maritime Shipmanagement Inc. Along with former OFWs, he has recently joined in putting up Rockfinder Inc, a small scale mining company in which he serves as First Vice President. He is likewise the Managing Partner of The Aquazone Co, a company engaged in Water Purification and distribution.
While in Saudi Arabia, he started as Technical Analyst at the King Abdulaziz Military Academy under the Ministry of Defense & Aviation. He served the National Industrialization Company in various capacities from Project Management, Quality Auditing, Marketing and Procurement.
Jun holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Institute of the Philippines and Stationary Marine Engineering from the Technological University of the Philippines. He earned MBA units at the De La Salle University Graduate School of Business.
A founding member of the Global Filipinos Coalition and a member of the Advisory Board of the Global Forum, he is the Chairman of the Filipino Migrant Workers Group and the Secretary General of the Alliance of Maritime and OFW Party Lists. He was the co-convenor of the OFW Summit 2002 held in the University of Makati and a resource person on various local and international migration forum. He is a regular member of the Consultative Council on OFWs, a consultative body tasked to address issues and concerns of the sector under the auspices of the POEA/DOLE.
Jun is married to Jasmin, and blessed with four children, namely John Francis (22), Jethro (14), Joan (12) and Juergen (9).
His initial task with OFI Bank is to spearhead the team to undertake the feasibility study of purchasing a local bank in Bulacan.
